Ricky Warwick is one of rock’n’roll’s last true rebels.
Whether singing and playing guitar with gasoline-fuelled rockers The Almighty, fronting the resurrected Thin Lizzy and their subsequent incarnation Black Star Riders, or performing as an acclaimed solo artist, he’s always been driven by those increasingly scarce commodities: honesty, passion and emotion. It’s these attributes and Warwick’s tireless dedication to music that’s seen him achieve decades of storming the charts (including multiple Top 10 albums).
Having just been awarded the Ards International Guitar Festival Lifetime Achievement Award in his homeland of Belfast, Warwick continues building his legacy this year with his electrifying ninth solo album, Fire And Vengeance. It’s a record that showcases a musician at the very peak of his powers and, lyrically, he’s up there with the very best – a working class poet whose songs combine the autobiographical, the observational, the political, the cynical and the heartfelt.
The new album sees him reunite once more with musical partner-in-crime Keith Nelson, the former guitarist with Buckcherry who co-produced, co-wrote and played on 2025’s Blood Ties.
